:: What are hand histories?
Hand histories are simply a play by play log of a poker hand played from beginning to end. It includes all know cards, betting actions, and outcome. Hand histories come as textfiles and there is several tracking software available to utilize these textfiles like PokerTracker or HoldemManager.
 

Do many people use hand histories?

Look at the popularity of programs like Poker Tracker and Hold'em Manager. They are very good for tracking your own play, but they are much more usefull for tracking your opponents play.
