Refunds & Cancellation

CashGameDB · in effect from — TO BE COMPLETED —

How to cancel, when you can withdraw, and when we give money back. This policy forms part of the Terms of Service.

Draft — not yet in force. The operator details on this page are placeholders, and the wording has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It is published here so it can be reviewed, not relied on. Nothing on this page is legal advice.

The short version

  • Cancel whenever you like. You keep access to the end of the period you paid for.
  • Cancelling stops the next renewal. It is not a refund of the current one.
  • You have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal — see §2 — which we ask you to waive at checkout in exchange for immediate access.
  • If something is genuinely wrong on our side, we fix it or we refund. See §7 and §9.

1. Cancelling

1.1 You can cancel at any time. There is no notice period, no minimum term beyond the period you have bought, and no cancellation fee.

1.2 Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current period. Until then nothing changes — you keep the plan you paid for. After that your account drops to the free tier; it is not deleted, and your notes and watchlists stay where they are.

1.3 Cancel from your account page. It takes one click and needs no explanation, no phone call and no email to us.

2. Right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU)

2.1 If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The period runs from the day the contract is concluded.

2.2 To exercise it, tell us clearly that you are withdrawing — an email to [email protected] is enough. You may use the model form in §4, but you do not have to. Sending the notice before the 14 days are up is sufficient.

2.3 If you withdraw, we refund everything you have paid without undue delay and within 14 days, using the same means of payment you used, at no charge to you.

3. Immediate access, and what it costs you

This is the clause that removes a right

3.1 A subscription is useful only if it works at once, so we start performing as soon as you have paid rather than holding your access for fourteen days.

3.2 At checkout we therefore ask you to confirm two things: that you expressly request performance to begin before the withdrawal period ends, and that you understand you lose your right of withdrawal once we have fully performed. Both are a deliberate tick, not a pre-ticked box, and we keep a record of it.

3.3 If you do not agree, do not tick it — your access begins after the 14 days instead, and your right of withdrawal is untouched throughout.

3.4 We ask for this because what you are buying is access to a database. Fourteen days of unrestricted use followed by a full refund is not a trial, and a policy that pays for it is one we would have to make up elsewhere.

4. Model withdrawal form

Use this only if you wish to withdraw. You do not have to — any clear statement will do.

To: [email protected]

I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for
the supply of the following service:

  CashGameDB subscription — plan: ______________________

Ordered on: ______________________
Email on the account: ______________________

Date: ______________________

5. Renewals

5.1 Subscriptions renew automatically for a further period of the same length until cancelled. We email you before a renewal is charged.

5.2 A renewal charged after you cancelled, or charged at a price we did not tell you about in advance, is refunded in full. Tell us and we will not argue about it.

5.3 A renewal you simply forgot about is not automatically refundable — but see §7, and get in touch early rather than late.

6. Upgrades and downgrades

6.1 When you upgrade, you pay only the difference between the two plans for the days left in your current period. If that comes to less than $3 we do not charge it at all.

6.2 An upgrade is not refundable back down to the lower plan mid-period. Moving to a lower plan takes effect at your next renewal, and we do not refund the unused remainder of a period you have already started.

7. When we refund anyway

Outside §2, refunds are at our discretion — and we would rather use that discretion than have an argument. We will normally refund, in full or in part, where:

  • you were charged twice, or charged after cancelling
  • you subscribed to the wrong plan and tell us before you have used it
  • the data you subscribed for turned out not to cover the stakes or rooms the plans page said it did
  • a fault on our side made the service unusable for a meaningful part of your period

We will not normally refund because a subscription did not improve your results, because your poker room objected to your using it, or for a period that has already been used in full.

This section describes how we intend to decide. It is not a contractual entitlement, and it does not limit §2 or §9 or your statutory rights.

8. Chargebacks

If something looks wrong, tell us first — it is faster than a chargeback and we can usually just fix it. Raising a chargeback without contacting us may cause us to suspend the account while the claim is resolved, since access has to stop while payment is in dispute.

9. If the service is unavailable

9.1 We do not promise a particular level of availability (Terms §8). Short outages and planned maintenance are part of running a service and are not refundable.

9.2 Where the service is materially unavailable for more than 48 consecutive hours through our fault, we extend your period by the time lost, or refund it pro rata if you would rather. Ask, and say which you want.

10. How to reach us

Email [email protected], or use the support form. Include the email address on the account. We answer refund requests within five working days.
